My beloved grandpa or 'tay' as we call him has passed away. A little note to him..
here is my speech from the funeral:
Not many people know this but the night before tay passed away I had a dream. I was at the hospital standing next to him as he lay in his bed. He took off his mask and said to me ‘din pagod nako’ – he told me he was tired. I said to him ‘go to sleep tay its ok.’
Today is a sad day, but at the same time a day of happiness that he can finally rest in peace. My memories with tay when I was younger are a bit vague, but what I do remember from the last few years is the love and care he had for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. No matter how old we were babies, teenagers and as parents, he always cared for us. But it was the times he spent with the little ones is what I will miss most. He could never get angry at them, in the simplest ways they could always make him laugh which most of you would know is not that easy. I remember one day tay was sitting in the lounge watching the fish and then Dakota came up to him with her little piano and tay just chuckled and found great amusement. Or the other time quite recently, tay had put on his oxygen mask before going to sleep to find that the oxygen was louder than usual. He called nay and she immediately got up in the middle of the night to find that Oliver had changed the level on the machine to full blast.
I’ll always remember him as a loving grandfather who would always be worried about what time I was coming home, and how I would come home each day to see him and nay watching deal or no deal. I’ll miss the endless times he would say ‘din can you get me a cup of warm water’ or ‘din can you pass me the remote and a toothpick’…
Tay we’ll miss you a lot and we love you. It’s not goodbye its see you later =)i'll load some photos when im bothered lol
love you long time
din =)
